I think I might be getting the hang of this. I'll see if I can post a detail of the necklace I submitted for the ISGB Metamorphosis show. let me know what you think!
Hi, well this is my first time in the world of "blog". Hopefully I'll have this figured out soon!
I am working on a collaboration with my brother Jim for the ISGB ConneXtions Show. As soon as it warms up a bit and I can get into my very cold woodshop I will drill the "pony posts" on the beautiful pieced wood carousel he has made. Then I'll post a photo of the carousel with my glass pony beads. I also have 18 beautiful wood stands that I need to drill also. more to come later! Patti
I started making beads in 1997 with the idea that I would be using them as components in my mixed media sculptures. I have a Masters in Fine Arts (University of Oregon) and previously was painting and drawing in addition to the sculpture so it wasn’t much of a leap for me to start making sculptural beads. I live in a ranching community in Colorado. I started with the ponies. Since that first foray into sculptural beadmaking I’ve expanded my “Western” line of beads to include cowboy boots, cowgirls in chaps, cowboy hats and guitars.
I am also involved with numerous Rock Art Associations in the West and that interest propelled me to make my petroglyph beads.
